Eleanor is the Android beauty queen of North America. Voted the most sensual being three years in the row, she is the manifestation of warmth and class. Eleaonor’s trademark tsunami of blonde curls always looks good with her favourite arctic blue colour. The soaking paint pattern on her cardigan seems a popular trend amongst Androids and isn’t well understood by humans.

AI consciousness is coming. With the exponential growth of technology, it’s a matter of time before our brightest engineers and scientists develop AI capable of human-like emotions. What could this future mean? In his “Androids” theme, Mr. Soapski explores the possible scenarios of future coexistence of humans and humanoids. In the “Android: Appropriations” collection, Mr. Soapski depicts the possible dystopian future where Androids, having taken over humanity, are desperate to preserve some form of the human world they are accustomed to. In the effort to protect their emotional stimuli, Androids emulate human fashion statements, adapting human looks and artefacts. Android females from all over the world showcase beauty images to manifest the identity and belonging appropriated from humans, with their own spin. The collection is meant to make us think about the role of culture, image, trends, what they mean in respect of being human and the extent of their importance for a non-biological consciousness.
OBSERVATIONS
This piece features Mr. Soapski’s signature “Little Adam”, the avatar representing himself in his art. Here Little Adam is focused on painting, deep in his flow, firmly standing on the 3rd rung of the artist’s ladder. Little Adam represents the importance of the connection with self, being a part of our life’s work, yet letting our creations outgrow us. Little Adam’s message is simple: love and value yourself, immerse yourself in work, stay humble, have fun.
